Dalmatian Island Hopping
The perfect position of island Hvar enables you to see and feel much more then just this beautiful island. Although Hvar has so many things to offer, so much sights to see too keep all your senses busy the entire summer, you don’t want to miss a chance to see other beautiful places Croatia and Dalmatia have to offer.
Day trips
For all travellers who wish to soak up as much experience while on a time limited journey, day trips are a perfect way to explore many places from your “home base”.
Island of Hvar is positioned near some of the most beautiful places in Croatia which can be visited with short half day or full day trips. We can call this “island hopping”. In Hvar there are many privately owned agencies that organise exactly these kinds of activities. They are usually organised with departures in the early morning with return trips to Hvar in the afternoon or early evening.
Here are a few tips when going on such day trips:
- Always check if brunch or lunch is provided (don’t won’t to be hungry while exploring right?)
- Always bring sun lotion and other sun protection
- Check the weather forecast – although trips are cancelled if bad weather is in forecast, sometimes summer weather brings unexpected wind gusts or rain showers so it is always good to carry something warmer to wear just in case.
- Ask for detailed trip information before making any reservations and be sure to check websites like “Tripadvisor” for reviews.
Day trip to Korčula
Korčula, the birth place of Marco Polo can be reached by public ferry line (30 min travel time) or you can rent a private organized tour. Korčula is a beautiful medieval town with beautiful beaches, great restaurants, wine tasting tours (Korčula is home of the most famous Croatian vines), clean sea and untouched nature.
Day trip to Brač
Hopp on to the Hvar’s neighbouring island of Brač and visit the small picturesque town of Bol and one the most beautiful beaches in the whole world. Brač is home of the world famous Zlatni Rat beach. The island of Brač will dazzle you with its spectacular nature and breathtaking views.
Day trip to Vis
Vis – the island of Greek myths and tales, island of untouched natural beauties. This island is best to visit with an organised day trip since you will be able to experience the Blue cave on a small island of Biševo, a magical place words can not describe. This underwater cave is a spectacular site for all senses. You will also be able to visit another natural wonder – Green cave.
